Support SANBS Blood Drives at Shavathon Shopping Centre Events
Just before Bokang Mosia’s 8th birthday his mother noticed big lump on his head.
His parents took him to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg where scans and a biopsy were done. The doctors gave Bokang’s parents the tragic news that he had a malignant tumour, roughly the size of a tennis ball, pushing against his brain.
The tumour affected the cognitive part of his brain which his parents said affected his character.
During the course of the diagnosis and the treatment, the plucky 9 year old has had numerous blood and platelet transfusions and has now made a full recovery thanks to his parents, his medical team and the selfless blood donors who offered up their time to give the gift of a lifetime to young Bokang Mosia.
