Kindest Cut Online Fundraising Champs

The following online fundraising activists have sacrificed their locks and raised funds and awareness for cancer Survivors online via our online fundraising project “CANSA’s Kindest Cut Campaign”. See their motivation for doing so below…

While Shavathons are traditionally held once a year and ponytail donations accepted at these events, the public is welcome to donate hair and raise funds to make wigs, all year round via the ‘Kindest Cut Campaign’.

Jen’s Challenge:

Has raised R2000 from 6 donors *– Says Jenna, 12 years old, “My name is Jenna and I’m 12 years old. I have decided to grow my hair and when it is long enough, cut it and donate it to the CANSA, Kindest Cut Campaign. I would like to help make a wig out of my hair.” Make an online donation to support Jenna’s here… and see her Facebook Page here…

Hair For Hope:

Has raised R26 073 from 26 donors * – Charmaine Barnes says, “I’m creating this project in memory of my brother Daryl Hope and his wife Johanna, who both passed away as a result of cancer. When people go through the treatment and lose their hair, they tend to feel even worse and lose hope. They don’t deserve to go through that too! I shaved my head on 22 March 2014 (Daryl’s birthday was on the 19th).” Support Charmaine’s fundraising efforts here…

Cut for a Cause:

Has raised R625-00 from 6 donors * – Says Jane Kilian, “I had two friends get diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 30 and 29. I watched them go through chemo, lose their hair, and fight back! I cannot imagine what it feels like but I know as a girl, losing your hair must be one of the hardest things to deal with as a female. It’s our identity. I decided I want to try make a difference and donate my ponytail so that a girl going through chemo can have a high quality wig and feel a little more herself. I want to raise money for this project as well, so sponsor me to cut my 25cm for CANSA! Whether it is R10 or R50 or R100, some little girl out there will thank you!” Support Jane’s fundraising efforts here…

Amounts raised as reflected on 31st March 2015 16h30…
