Bridget Ball, a 13 year old high school learner, donated 30 cm of her hair for the CANSA Shavathon campaign. She has been growing her hair since she was born, so that she could donate her hair to help those affected by cancer.

Shavathon participant Ingrid, shares that her reason for shaving her head, is to honour her mom and mom-in-law who both died of cancer. Ingrid nursed both of them, took them to chemo and was their hospital buddy.

Thank you to our supporters at AfriSam, supporting CANSA and Shavathon since 2008! Among our fantastic online fundraisers for Shavathon 2015 are The Hair’s Angels for CANSA, who are a team of 14 women who have shaved their heads bald in support of cancer Survivors and the CANSA Shavathon. They have raised a total of R65 860 * (R52 760 from 16 online donations & a further R2000 donation off-line, as well as a donation of R11 100 off-line from Nedbank)
